Special Secretary Internal Security will be the head of this committee. The committee has been instructed to take immediate action against the criminals. According to sources, the committee will be continuously monitored by the Internal Security Secretary of the Home Ministry. The Cyber ​​Crime Coordination Center of the Home Ministry, also known as 14C, has contacted the police of all states and union territories and informed them about the committee.

More than 6 thousand cases registered so far this year

More than 6,000 cases of digital arrest have been registered across the country so far this year. In this, 14C has blocked 6 lakh mobile numbers in connection with the scam, which targets people by falsely implicating them in drugs and money laundering cases. The Cyber ​​Crime Coordination Center has also blocked at least 709 mobile applications. Sources said the authorities have also ordered freezing of 3.25 lakh fake bank accounts related to cyber fraud.

PM Madi had warned people in Mann Ki Baat

He had given the mantra of ‘Stop, Think and Take Action’ to avoid this new fraud. Meanwhile, the data released by the Indian Government’s Home Ministry regarding digital arrests in the first quarter of 2024 is quite shocking. According to these figures, between January and April 2024, people have lost more than Rs 120 crore due to digital arrest.

46 percent of crimes are being committed from other countries

When the Indian Cyber ​​​​Crime Coordination Center under the Ministry of Home Affairs studied the cases of digital arrest from January to April in 2024, it was found that most of the cases of fraud in this way were committed from South Asian countries Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Used to be. 46% of the total crime has been operated from these three countries. Till now, people in India have suffered a loss of about Rs 1776 crore through digital arrest.
