Ingredients for Besan Onion Curry

Onion – 4 medium size
Onion – 1 finely chopped
Gram flour – 1 cup
Curd – 3 tbsp
2 tomato paste
Green chili – 4 to 5 finely chopped
Ginger and garlic paste – 1 tsp
Cumin – 1 tsp
Asafoetida – 2 pinches
Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Ajwain – 1/4 tsp
salt – as per taste
Red chili powder – 1 tsp
Roasted cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
Garam masala – 1 tsp
Mustard oil – 4 tbsp
Coriander leaves – finely chopped

Gram flour onion curry is prepared very easily. Let us know its preparation method in 2 steps, so that you do not face any difficulty in making this delicious recipe.

step 1: To make gram flour and onion curry, first put oil in a frying pan on medium gas and keep it for heating. When the oil is well heated, add cumin, ginger-garlic paste, green chillies and onions and fry for two minutes. After this add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt to it and mix it well while stirring with a spoon. After mixing it well, add tomatoes to it and fry it stirring evenly till it becomes soft. Then add a little water and cover it for two to three minutes, so that all the spices get cooked properly.

Step- 2: On the other hand, to make pakoras, mix gram flour, onion, celery, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, green coriander, salt, a pinch of red chili powder and prepare a batter in a bowl. Keep making pakodas after the fixed time and keep pouring them in the gravy. After that add some more water and cook covered again for 3 to 4 minutes. At last add garam masala and stir and garnish with green coriander and turn off the gas. You can serve this gram flour onion curry with rice or paratha.
