The tastier it is, the more nutritious it is. After eating this dish, not only adults, children will also go crazy. You can also feed this tasty vegetable to the guests at home. This is an easy-to-make dish, which you can prepare for lunch. However, most of the people cook and eat spinach in different ways at home. But the taste of potato-spinach will be completely different. Let’s know the easy way to make Aloo Palak.
Ingredients for making potato-spinach
Spinach – 500 grams
Potato – 200 grams
Onion – 300 grams
Tomato – 250 grams
Ginger – 50 grams
Green chili – 6-7
Maize flour – 1 cup
Cinnamon – 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder – 2 teaspoons
Garam masala – 1 tsp
Butter – 1 tsp
salt – as per taste
Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon
Red chili powder – 1 tsp
Clove powder – 1 tsp
Cumin – 1 teaspoon
Asafoetida – 2 pinches
Ghee – 4 tbsp
How to make Potato Spinach
To make Aloo Palak, first clean the spinach and wash it thoroughly with water. After this, roughly chop the spinach. Now put a pressure cooker on a low flame and put spinach in it, add some salt and boil it in the cooker till 2 whistles. When the spinach is boiled, let it cool for some time, then put it in the mixer. Add green chillies to it and grind them. Now take out the ground spinach in a bowl and keep it aside. Now peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes, wash them thoroughly and keep them aside. After this, keep a pan on medium flame and heat ghee in it. When the ghee is hot, add chopped potatoes and fry till it turns light brown.

When the potatoes are cooked, take them out in a bowl. Now heat the fry pan and add cumin, ginger pieces and chopped onions. Keep in mind that fry the onion and ginger until the onion turns pink. Now add chopped tomatoes and cook for about two minutes. When the tomatoes are cooked, add all the spices-cinnamon, garam masala powder, red chili powder, cumin, clove powder and fry for two more minutes. After this, add fried potatoes and coarsely ground spinach to the pan. Cook for about a minute or two and sprinkle maize flour in it.

Mix the corn flour with the vegetables well and add lemon juice to it and cook for two more minutes. Now prepare tadka for potato spinach. Take a small pan and melt butter in it. Add asafoetida powder to it, fry for a few seconds and pour over the prepared potato spinach. Stir the tadka well with the cooked dish and your delicious Aloo Palak is ready. Now you can serve it with roti, rice or naan.
