Dipika Chikhlia On Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayan: Actress Deepika Chikhalia, who played the role of Mata Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayana’, has raised questions on Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film ‘Ramayana’. Deepika is unhappy with Ranbir Kapoor and director Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming ‘Ramayana’.
The actress recently gave an interview to India Today. In this, the actress also talked about Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana and Kriti Sanon and Prabhas’ ‘Adipurush’. She said that I am very disappointed with those who keep making Ramayana. The actress also said that it is not right to tamper with religious texts.
I am disappointed with those who keep making Ramayana
Deepika Chikhalia is not happy with the repeated making of films on ‘Ramayana’. In a conversation with India Today, she said, “Honestly, I am very disappointed with those who keep making Ramayana because I don’t think you should do this. People are messing up. I don’t think people should make Ramayana again and again because every time they make it, they want to bring something new; a new story, a new angle, a new look.
Like for Kriti Sanon, they gave her a pink saree (in Adipurush). They gave Saif (Saif Ali Khan who played Raavan in Om Raut’s film) a different look because they wanted to do something different. But then what you are doing is that you are spoiling the whole impact of Ramayana.”
Religious texts should not be tampered with
Deepika further says, “One should not tamper with religious texts. I don’t think one should do that and leave it like that. Just don’t do that. There are many stories apart from Ramayana that you can talk about. Talk about many freedom fighters. There is a lot that one can talk about. Unsung heroes who were brave in history for freedom. Why only Ramayana.”
Cast of Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’
Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in the role of Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. South actress Sai Pallavi will be seen in the role of Mata Sita. If media reports are to be believed, actor Arun Govil can be seen in the role of King Dasharath in this film, who was earlier seen in the role of Lord Rama in Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayana’. Actress Lara Dutta can play the role of Queen Kaikeyi.
