Barauni Junction Railway Station
This unique railway station is known as Barauni Junction, which was built in 1883 as Barauni Junction. At that time the number of platforms at this railway station used to start from one. Trains used to run in different divisions from Barauni Junction. But only goods train used to stand on platform number one. After some time the people there complained, after the complaint of the people it was decided to build another Barauni Junction.
Second station made two kilometers away
After people’s complaint, another Barauni railway station was built two kilometers away from Barauni Junction, the number of platforms at the second station was kept the same. Because of which two stations at a distance of two kilometers at the same place became with the same name.

When the new Barauni railway station was completed, the platform number one at the old Barauni railway station was removed, since then the number of platforms at the old Barauni railway station starts from number 2.
