Shopkeepers of the capital will worship Lakshmi-Ganesh in their respective shops and establishments on Friday. Actually, Amavasya will start on Thursday evening and Amavasya will remain the whole day on Friday.

Preparations to celebrate Diwali festival have been completed in the capital. This festival is mainly known for the worship of Lakshmi-Ganesh, in which people worship Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. This time, Lakshmi-Ganesh puja is being organized in homes on Thursday and in shops on Friday. At the same time, Govardhan Puja and Annakoot Mahotsav will be celebrated on Saturday. Whereas Bhaiya Dooj will be celebrated on Sunday.
People consider the day of Lakshmi-Ganesh worship as very auspicious. Especially the householders worship Lakshmi-Ganesh with full enthusiasm. This time, due to Amavasya being for two days, most of the residents of the capital will perform puja as per rituals in their homes on Thursday. However, some people will worship on Friday. For this, people have made preparations for cleaning their houses as well as decorating rangoli and lamps. It is believed that on this day Goddess Lakshmi arrives at home and bestows blessings of prosperity. Decorations have been done at the entrance of every house in the capital to light lamps and welcome Goddess Lakshmi.
