Passengers traveling by Delhi Metro no longer have to worry about reaching their destination. Passengers can now book their bike-taxi through DMRC Momentum (Delhi Sarathi 2.0), the official mobile app of Delhi Metro. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has taken this decision to increase the convenience of passengers. Under this, passengers can avail the benefit of two types of bike taxis. SheRides is dedicated to women, by women and riders (RYDR) for all riders.
This service has been started by DMRC in partnership with First and Last Mile Connectivity India. Bike taxi service is currently available in 12 metro stations. These include Dwarka Sector-21, Dwarka Sector-10, Dwarka Sector-14, Dwarka Mod, Janakpuri West, Uttam Nagar East, Rajouri Garden, Subhash Nagar, Kirti Nagar, Karol Bagh, Millennium City Center Gurugram and Palam.
A total of 50 SHERIDEs and 150 RYDRs will operate between 8 am to 9 pm within a radius of about three to five kilometers from these stations. After this, this facility will be extended to more than 100 stations in a month. During this period, the remaining stations will be connected to bike taxi service for the next three months. This will further strengthen the last mile connectivity at all 250 metro stations of DMRC.
Bike taxi journey will start from Rs 10
DMRC Managing Director Dr. Vikas Kumar has formally launched this service for passengers. The service is a custom-tailored initiative designed to meet the needs and preferences of women metro commuters. The fare for its journey will be Rs 10 per kilometer for the first two kilometers and Rs 8 per kilometer thereafter.
