Dr. Jagdish Khubchandani, Professor of Public Health at New Mexico State University, America, told Medical News Today that some studies have discussed the reasons for mosquitoes being attracted to humans. These have revealed that mosquitoes bite some people more due to body odor, skin color, skin temperature and texture, microbes living on the skin, pregnancy, carbon dioxide released by humans, alcohol and diet. According to research, mosquitoes bite pregnant women, people with high temperature and excessive sweating and people with dark skin more.

Beer drinkers are also at greater risk

Some studies have also revealed that people with blood group A are bitten less by mosquitoes. On the other hand, people with blood group O are bitten the most by mosquitoes. Apart from this, mosquitoes are more attracted to people who drink beer. However, it is believed that one way to avoid mosquitoes can be to wear light colored clothes.
