There is an Afghan restaurant in Jangpura, South Delhi, named Pakiza Restaurant. There is an Afghan ice cream stall outside it. While talking to the team of Local 18, the operator of this stall, Khwaja, told that he has been giving people a taste of this Afghan ice cream since 2014. He told that the traditional Afghan ice cream is known as “Sheer Yakh”. It is a favorite dessert in Afghanistan. It is characterized by its rich and creamy texture, which is often infused with aromatic flavors such as cardamom, rose water and sometimes saffron.

How is Afghani ice cream made?
To make Afghani ice cream, milk with cream is heated for a long time, then it is left to cool. After this, sugar, ground cardamom and rose water are mixed in the milk and kept aside. Then this mixture is poured into a container and ice cubes are placed around it. The container is shaken for a long time and due to the ice, this milk mixture starts freezing lightly. After this, the ice cream is taken out in a plate with the help of ice cubes and then it is served after garnishing it with nuts, cardamom or dry fruits.

Talking about the price of ice cream, it ranges from 80 rupees to 120 rupees. The ice cream stall is set up from 4:00 pm to 11:30 pm. The nearest metro station is Jangpura.
