Do walls really have ears too? How does the sound reach the other room, scientists told the reason

walls have ears! You must have also heard this saying. This means that if you have a conversation in a closed room, people beyond the walls can hear it. This means that your voice reaches those people whom you cannot even see. It seems as if they are listening to you through the walls. No matter how thick the walls are, there is no guarantee that they will be soundproof. Now know where this thing came from?

It is said that this saying started from the famous Asifi Imambara of Lucknow, which is also known as Bhoolbhulaiya or Bada Imambara. Its curved structure, similar paths, artwork, carvings and many tunnels make it special. The specialty of these walls is that if you whisper something near the wall in a corner, it can be heard in any corner by placing your ear on these walls.

built to avoid spies
Its hall is 165 feet, but even if you speak softly in one corner, it is heard in the other corner. The reason for this is said to be the black and white hollow lines made in the hall, which carry the sound from one corner to the other. It is said that Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula had adopted this method to avoid spies hidden in his army and to catch the enemy. But there is also scientific basis behind this.

What do scientists say about this
According to the report of Inside Science, Scientists from Japan and South Korea did a research on this. He said that if you want to make the walls soundproof. That is, if you want that no one can hear your voice, then you will have to install a soundproof board or sheet. Scientists have found through experiments that if a very narrow hole is made in the wall and a plastic membrane is placed on one side of it, then by placing the ear there, the sound can be heard very clearly. Not only this, it can be up to 75%-100% volume. You can also call these narrow holes the ears of the walls. The special thing is, if there is no membrane installed in this hole, that is, if it is open from one side, then you will not hear the sound.
