Many cases of fraud by cunning criminals keep coming up, but the kind of fraud that has happened this time in Koderma district is probably something you would have never seen or heard of before. This time the cunning people took a person suffering from physical problems for the last several years into their confidence and swindled gold jewellery worth about 15 lakh rupees. This case is from Marchoi village under Satgawan block of Koderma district.

Actually, Marchoi resident 46-year-old Pankaj Kumar Singh has been suffering from filariasis for the last several years. He is tired of getting treatment in big hospitals. He told that he was working in his field. During this time three people passing on two bikes on the road next to the field stopped and asked about his swollen feet. They said, “Do you have filariasis?”. When he told that he is tired of getting treatment for it, but he has not got any relief. Then the bike riders took him into their confidence by calling themselves tantriks.

They assured him that they can completely cure his disease. When Pankaj asked about the cost of curing the disease, the three swindlers demanded a goat in exchange for curing the disease. On this Pankaj told them that if they can cure his years long problem, he will happily give them not one but two goats.

Showing fear of disease, no one was allowed to come close
After this, Pankaj brought the three alleged tantriks on a bike to his house. Where the thugs scared the other family members and the people around them about the contagious disease of filaria and advised them to stay away from this whole process. After which the thugs pretended to do tantra vidya with unbroken rice and red cloth for half an hour. During this, the swindlers took Pankaj’s entire family into their confidence. After some time, the swindlers instructed Pankaj and his wife to bring all the gold jewellery present in the house and tie it in a red cloth.

During this, the thugs argued that the more gold jewellery you have, the faster the disease will be cured. After this, Pankaj’s wife took off all the gold jewellery kept in the house and also the gold jewellery worn by the children and handed it over to the thugs. Its value was around 15 lakh rupees.

Instead of gold, only rice grains came out of the bundle
After taking the gold jewellery from the woman, the scoundrels instructed Pankaj, who was suffering from filariasis, to bathe three times and then come back to the room. Thereafter Pankaj went to take bath at the hand pump situated outside the room. There itself the so-called tantriks forbade Pankaj’s wife from watching the Tantra Vidya and instructed her to stand facing the wall. After this when Pankaj came to the room after bathing three times, the thugs tied a red cloth on Pankaj’s leg suffering from filariasis and on Pankaj’s bed saying that inside it lie his gold jewellery purified by Tantra Vidya.

Open it after half an hour. After doing this process continuously for 41 days, filariasis will be completely cured. After this, the thugs left his room and forbade him to look back. After about half an hour, when Pankaj opened the gold jewellery tied in red cloth, he found only rice grains in it. After this, he realized that he had been cheated.

Uncle and nephew arrested due to promptness of police
Information about this big incident of fraud in the village was given to Satgawan police. After which the police team became active and informed the Nawada police of the neighboring state Bihar about the incident. After which, with the help of Nawada police, two criminals who fled after cheating of jewellery have been arrested from Bundelkhand police station area of ​​​​Nawada district. The accused have been identified as Mohd. Shamshad and Mohd. Chunnu. Both the fraudsters are said to be uncle-nephew in relation. According to the local people, both were living in a rented house here disguised as sadhus. At present, the police is interrogating both of them for recovery of the stolen jewellery.
