As a child, we are often taught in school that sharing is caring. But when it comes to toothbrushes, this saying may not be true. Although sharing your partner’s toothbrush may not seem harmful, it can actually be risky and have dangerous health consequences. Your mouth contains both good and bad bacteria. When you use your partner’s toothbrush, you are transferring bacteria from one mouth to another. From an oral health perspective, it is completely wrong to use your partner’s toothbrush.
Why should you never share a toothbrush with your partner?
Bacteria Swap: Toothbrushes carry bacteria, including the bacteria that cause gum disease, cavities and more serious infections. Sharing toothbrushes can spread these bacteria to your partner and then to yours.
Streptococcus mutans: A dangerous bacteria that is responsible for many types of infections and tooth decay can be found on toothbrushes. So, when you share toothbrushes, you are more likely to get a dangerous infection. Increased risk of infection: Some oral bacteria can cause infections beyond the mouth, such as pneumonia. Sharing toothbrushes can increase the risk of bacterial infection.

Sharing a toothbrush may seem like love, but it is a very bad way because there are many other ways to show love.
