Window AC Electricity Bill: Summer has arrived in North India. It has already become very difficult to get people out of their homes. April, May, June and July are very difficult months for people. There is severe heat in these months. So the sunlight is such that it crosses the roofs and enters the rooms. Therefore, during the summer season, AC is now used in almost all houses.
Using AC is definitely a little more expensive than using a normal cooler or fan. But this definitely provides relief from the heat. Which may not be available as much from the cooler and fan. Often people say that the bill of window AC is higher than split AC. Let us know if this is really true.
How much is the monthly bill for window AC?
Be it window AC or split AC, generally people do not use AC much. Because the bill comes higher than that. So if you run window AC for 8 hours. Then your window AC will consume 7-8 units of electricity daily. Which ranges from 210 to 240 units per month.
So in such a situation your monthly electricity bill will be between Rs 1470 and Rs 1680. We have given you this approximate calculation based on 8 hours consumption of 1 ton window AC. The rating of AC is also important in its consumption. If your AC is of five rating. So it will save 10 times more electricity than a normal 3 or 4 star AC.
The bill for split AC is so much
Split AC is a little more expensive than window AC. Its other benefits are that it occupies less space in your house or room and provides more cooling. Talking about split AC bill, if you have one and a half ton five star rating split AC installed in your house. If you use it for 8 hours a day then it consumes 12 to 15 units of electricity.
That means, if you are paying the electricity bill at Rs 7 per unit, it can range from 360 units to 450 units per month. So your monthly bill can come between Rs 2520 to Rs 3150. That is, if compared, the bill of window AC is less than that of split AC.
