A senior doctor was murdered on Friday afternoon for robbery in Jangpura, a posh area of ​​Nizamuddin. Dr. Yogesh Chandra Paul (63) was alone in the house at the time of the incident. The miscreants who entered the house tied him to a chair and then strangulated him to death. The miscreants left his body tied to a chair in the kitchen. The miscreants locked the dogs present in the house in the bathroom.

After this the miscreant searched the entire house. It is suspected that miscreants have taken away jewelery and cash worth lakhs from the house. The incident came to light when his wife Dr. Neena, working in the Delhi government, returned home from duty in the evening. All four miscreants have been captured in CCTV cameras. More than six teams of the district are searching for the miscreants. However, the miscreants did not get any clue till late night.

South-East District Police Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dev said that Dr. Yogesh Chandra Paul lived with his family on the upper ground floor of C-14, Jangpura. Dr. Paul was a pediatric doctor and ran his own clinic in Jangpura. He was a gold medalist. The family includes wife Neena Paul and two children. Wife Neena is a doctor and works in a Delhi government hospital. According to district police officials, when wife Dr. Neena returned home, she found Dr. Paul’s body in the kitchen and household items scattered.

Dr. Neena informed the police at around 6.50 pm on Friday evening. After the information, Hazrat Nizamuddin police station reached the spot, the police team took the body of Dr. Paul into custody and kept it in AIIMS for post-mortem. The police registered a case on the statement of Nina Paul and started investigating the matter.

Criminals captured in CCTV cameras

According to police officials, four miscreants had come to commit the crime. Three miscreants had entered inside to commit the crime and one miscreant stood outside and kept monitoring. When three miscreants were coming out of the house after committing the crime, they were captured in CCTV cameras. The criminal who had stopped outside has been captured in the CCTV camera roaming around. However, the faces of the miscreants are not clearly visible in the CCTV footage. In such a situation, the police and CCTV cameras are scanning the footage.

Suspicion of involvement of some expert

Dr. Paul used to run his clinic in Nizamuddin itself. He would come home to rest at two in the afternoon and go home again at four o’clock. In such a situation, he is alone at home in the afternoon. People close to him may know this. In such a situation, police officers are suspecting that the crime has been committed by someone close to him. The accused might have taken his people to the doctor as patients. The accused committed the crime and then fled.

The accused locked the dogs in the bathroom

Police sources said that two dogs are present in Dr. Paul’s house. The accused had locked both the dogs in the bathroom before the incident. The accused had locked the dogs and tied Dr. Paul to a chair and then strangled him to death. The accused left him in the kitchen of the house after the murder. After this he ran away after looting.
