Rain and waterlogging ruined the hopes of 12 candidates who had come to take the police recruitment exam. Due to the poor drainage system in the city, the candidates had to face a lot of problems. They had to pass through knee-deep water, even their clothes got spoiled. Due to the delay caused by this, 12 candidates from two centers missed their exam.
After the rain in the city at around 1.30 pm, the roads got waterlogged. Due to this the candidates were late in reaching the examination centre. 12 candidates who reached late at the examination centre set up at TR Degree College and TR Inter College kept pleading for entry, but they were not allowed to enter the examination centre due to time constraint. Actually, entry was allowed at the examination centres till 2.10 pm. But due to rain and waterlogging, the candidates reached the centre after 2.15 pm. Due to this they were stopped from appearing in the examination.
Candidates express their pain after missing the exam
There was an exam in the second shift at TR Degree College, Ramghat Road. Due to rain and traffic jam in the city, I was late in reaching the exam centre and thus missed the exam. I pleaded a lot but still I was not allowed to enter. – Chinu Choudhary, Moradabad
The examination centre was in TR Girls Inter College. While coming from Etah to Aligarh, first there was a traffic jam and then there was a delay due to buses not coming to the city. The remaining problem was solved by the waterlogging after the rain. Therefore, the exam was missed. – Premlata, Etah.
While coming from Agra to Aligarh, I was dropped from the bus on the bypass. There was a delay of a few minutes due to waterlogging on the way from there to the city. I was requested a lot, but still I was not allowed to take the exam. – Rajkishore Verma, Fatehabad, Agra.
