Drones in Farming: The government is constantly working to make farmers aware of modern farming. The effect of which is now visible. Farmers have adopted many new techniques in farming. Now farmers are also using drones for farming purposes. The government is giving subsidy to farmers on drone purchase. Farmers can apply for this.

Farmers will be given 60 percent subsidy on the purchase of agri drones. In such a situation, farmers can take advantage of government subsidy and purchase agricultural drones at a low price. Bihar government will give 60% subsidy on the purchase of drones for spraying pesticides and fertilizers in the fields, up to a maximum of Rs 3.65 lakh. The central government will give 60% and the state government will give 40% subsidy. Application can be made online on the website of the Agriculture Department.

The Agriculture Department has fixed eligibility for purchasing one drone per subdivision for 101 selected beneficiaries. Beneficiaries for drones will be selected at the district level. A provision of Rs 4 crore has been made for immediate grant. According to the Agriculture Department, spraying of pesticides and fertilizers through drones will save 30 to 35 percent of crop loss.

Who can apply

Selected farmers will be trained for drone pilot certificate. The cost of training will be borne by the Agriculture Department. One drone will ensure the service of three people. Apart from farmers, FPOs, agricultural machinery banks, SHGs, NGOs, licensed fertilizer-seed sellers, private companies and registered institutions can also apply for drone grants.

Information will have to be given to the government

The government is giving subsidy on purchasing drones for agricultural purposes. Buyers can negotiate and purchase the drone of their choice. The subsidy will be deposited directly into the account of the drone seller. The seller will have to give complete information about the drone purchased to the government. The selected beneficiary will have to obtain NOC from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and register on the Digital Sky platform.
