Drug trade is going on in medical stores in Badaun, including the city and the rural areas. The police was constantly receiving complaints about this. The SP City and CO City began the raid in the city from 7 pm on Saturday. During this, a medical store operator Vinod was caught red-handed while injecting drugs to youth. The police brought him to the police station. Investigation revealed that three medical stores were being operated with a single license. During the raid, a large amount of drug injections and narcotic drugs recovered were sealed, but the medical stores were not sealed, which has become a topic of discussion in the city.
CO City Alok Mishra said that information was received about drug injections being sold at Lakshmi Medical Store near the overbridge in Civil Lines police station area. A day before, injections were ordered by sending a policeman in plain clothes. After this, a raid was conducted there with the city magistrate and police force. Drug injections were found in large quantities. There is a drain near the medical store, from which the police have also recovered used injections.
Police detained medical operator Vinod and brought him to the police station. The drug department team was called there. Drug inspector Lavkush Prasad kept fooling the police officers for three hours. When it seemed that the matter had escalated, the DM and the city magistrate came to know about the matter, they reached Laxmi Medical Store near Mission School in the city at around 10 pm. When the team inspected the medical store, banned medicines were found in large numbers there.
