The School of Open Learning (SOL) of the Campus of Open Learning (DDCE-COL), Department of Distance and Continuing Education, University of Delhi, will now provide an opportunity for students to do research. Facilities for long-term and short-term research will be made available, so that the qualities of a researcher can be developed in the students. For this, the Department of Distance and Continuing Education has entered into an agreement with Western Sydney University, Australia. Under this agreement, both the institutes will cooperate with each other in the field of education, research and resources for five years. There is also a plan for credit exchange of students.

DDCE has also tied up with Master Union, an organization providing market based skill courses. Under this agreement, the students of Master’s Union will be able to enroll in the degree program of SOL. Whereas DDCE will also be able to use the resources they have. Director of DDCE-COL Prof. Payal Mago told that we have entered into a five-year agreement with Western Sydney University, Australia. Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Western Sydney University Prof Linda Taylor was present for the signing. Research projects, conferences, seminars, symposia and educational activities will be done under this MoU.

Its main objective is to develop women entrepreneurs. There will also be exchange programs for students and teachers. Students of both the institutions will conduct research in areas such as sustainable development, agriculture, environment and lifestyle. For this facilities will also be made available to them. If there is a credit exchange of students between the two institutions, that too will be done. This will provide more learning opportunities to the students of both the institutes.
