In the year 1993, Laxman Ahari came to Dungarpur from Italiya Kheda in Udaipur and started selling samosas, kachoris and bread pakoras in the name of Jai Guru Dev near Maharawal, the oldest school in Dungarpur. When samosas, kachoris and bread pakodas were sold at the rate of 40 paise per piece. Gradually its demand started increasing a lot. Today the situation is such that around 300 samosas, kachoris and bread pakoras are sold daily. Laxman, who started with 40 paise, today sells samosas, kachoris and bread pakoras for Rs 12 to 13. 4 men have also been employed to make and serve samosas, kachoris and bread pakoras.
Guru Dev’s chutney became people’s choice
The reason behind Guru Dev’s breakfast center being so famous is the chutney used in their samosas and kachoris. For this, Laxman Singh prepares a different type of chutney. First of all separate the peel and seeds from inside the sour tamarind. Later put it in water. Chilli spice is mixed in the water. After this, chop the bread into a fine paste and mix the churma of the bread into it. In the end gram flour is mixed in it as per the requirement. This is the reason why their chutney is different.
