Duranga 2 Review: Amit Sadh, Gulshan Devaiah’s performance is good, but the speed is messed up, know how the series is

Duranga Season 2 Review: The second season of Amit Sadh, Gulshan Devaiah and Drishti Dhami starrer web series ‘Duranga’ has been released on the occasion of Dussehra. The first season of this series was also well liked and now the makers have brought its second season in front of the audience. The story of the second season begins with the same twist on which the story ends in the first season. Let us tell you that This series is the official Indian adaptation of the Korean drama ‘Flower of Evil’. Just like their names, in this series you will see many colors or rather shades in the characters of Gulshan and Amit. The biggest beauty of this story lies in its performance. Gulshan has won hearts with his brilliant performance in the first season, while Amit Sadh has given an excellent performance in this season. Know what are the strong points and weak points of this series apart from the performance.

Director Rohan Sippy starts ‘Duranga 2’ from where the first season ended. In the first season, Abhishek Bane (Gulshan Devaiah) was living a double life as Samit Patel, the husband of Inspector Ira Patel (Drishti Dhami). But the second season begins with the real Samit Patel (Amit Sadh) waking up from coma. As soon as Samit wakes up from his coma, another murder takes place in Mumbai and that too in the same old style as the murders in Sarangwadi. The police become alert after seeing this. At the same time, Samit Patel has also come to know that Abhishek is now living his life by becoming Samit. Now he starts hoping to get this life back.

This time there are 8 episodes of this series. The last season was directed by late directors Pradeep Sarkar and Ejaz Khan. This time, Rohan Sippy has taken charge of direction, who has previously made web series like ‘Criminal Justice’. The good thing about this series is that it has been perfectly adapted to the Indian environment. The way the story has been written, the way the foreign story has been told in a local style, is fantastic. Whenever you feel that things are getting resolved in the story, you see a twist, which makes the story exciting.

Amit Sadh, Gulshan Devaiah, Drashti Dhami and Barkha Bisht are seen in Duranga Season 2.

However, some things are strange in the story, like the crime branch police has been pursuing the same case for years. There is so much mention of Bala Bane and Sarangwadi case that it seems as if the entire Mumbai Crime Branch has no other case besides this. On the other hand, the story is a little slow this time too. In the first episode, it seems much slower because what is shown in the first episode, you have already understood by watching it in the trailer. That is, even after watching the entire episode, you feel that you have not seen anything new.

Another problem of ‘Duranga 2’ is that there are not so many twists in the entire season that it can be dragged on for so long. 8 episodes and all of them are more than 30 minutes long. The audience knows who is Bala Bane’s partner. In such a situation, 8 episodes are a bit much just to see how the police reach him. The first condition of a suspense thriller is suspense and thrill and both of these are slightly less in the series.

Talking about performance, in that case all three Amit, Gulshan and Drishti have earned full marks. The performance itself gives the motivation to watch this series completely. Actor Zakir Hussain has done a great job in the role of Bala Bane. You will like names like Abhijeet Khandkekar as crime reporter Vikas Sarode, Divya Seth as Anupriya Patel, Rajesh Khattar as Dr. Manohar Patel and Barkha Bisht as Prachi Banne in the series.
