This is the advantage of joining the scheme
The central government provides accident insurance cover of two lakh rupees to the registered workers on the government e-labor portal. Apart from this, workers also get insurance of two lakh rupees under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. Insurance premium is not given to the beneficiaries in the scheme. If someone dies or becomes completely disabled, even then the central government gives 2 lakh rupees. In case of partial disability, one lakh rupees are given. People of 16 to 59 years can be registered under the scheme.
This document is necessary for registration
It is necessary to have an Aadhaar card for registration on the e-labor portal. Also, the number to which the Aadhaar card is linked should be active. If the mobile number is not linked then it can be linked by visiting the nearest CSC. The worker should have a bank account. Mobile number will be updated after registering with e-labor card through biometric means.
38 crore people will be linked to the scheme
Union Ministry of Labor and Employment is increasing the target to connect people under the scheme. 38 crore workers will be added under the scheme. Officials say that if a person is a government employee, is getting pension, is on a constitutional post. He cannot take advantage of this scheme. Only unorganized sector workers can be registered under the scheme. Shop servant, salesman, helper, auto driver, driver, puncture maker, cowherd, all animal husbandry with dairy, paper hawker, delivery boy, labor working on brick kiln can take advantage of the scheme.
