How many days gap between election dates and results

Let us tell you that when the Election Commission announces the dates for voting during the Assembly elections and Lok Sabha elections, at the same time the Election Commission also announces the election results. But do you know how many days there is a gap between the election dates and the results. Today we will tell you whether there is any rule regarding this or not.

When does the result come?

Let us tell you that in India Lok Sabha elections And voting for assembly elections is done through EVM machines. Now the question is that if it is easy to count votes in EVM machine, then the result would also come quickly. Yes, since elections are held through EVMs, voting is completed within a maximum of 5 days. Because almost the parties feel that EVMs can be tampered with or the data can be tampered with. Although earlier when voting was done through ballot paper, it would take more than a day to count the votes, but now it does not happen.

Why does the Election Commission declare the results in a hurry?

After voting in assembly elections including Lok Sabha, the Election Commission announces the results within 5 days to maximum 1 week. Apart from this, you must have noticed that wherever voting takes place, supporters of almost all parties are present there. So that there can be no external interference in voting. This is the reason why the Election Commission does not keep the EVM machine under its security in the strong room for a long time after voting and announces the result within 5 days.

How long does data remain safe in EVM?

Now the question is for how many days can the data be stored in the EVM machine. Let us tell you that there are two units in EVM, the first is the control unit and the second is the ballot unit. The control unit is with the polling officer, whereas the ballot unit is the machine in which the voter casts his vote by pressing the button. According to the Election Commission, votes can be stored in EVM for 100 years, unless the data is deleted from this machine, it remains saved in it.
