A local EMU train derailed at 6:40 am on platform number 2 of New Delhi Railway Station. Due to the accident, two trains running from platform number 2 have been cancelled. Many other trains were operated from other platforms. Train operations at New Delhi Railway Station were affected for about three hours. This caused inconvenience to thousands of passengers.

Train number 04960 Palwal to Shakur Basti EMU derailed on the track of platform number two of New Delhi Railway Station at 6:40 am. It was fortunate that the speed of the train was not high, otherwise a major accident would have occurred. However, due to the derailment of the train, the drinking water line got cut. Due to this, thousands of liters of water was wasted.

After the train derailment, two trains were cancelled. Train number 04416 running between Shakur Basti and New Delhi and train number 04915 running between Shakur Basti and Ballabhgarh were cancelled. Both are local trains. The number of passengers travelling regularly in these trains is high. Due to the cancellation of both trains, thousands of passengers had to face trouble.

Apart from this, train number 04960 was cancelled at New Delhi Railway Station. Trains arriving at or departing from platform number 2 were operated from other platforms. The train was removed and the rail track was repaired at around 9:40 am. After this, train operations became normal. Railway officials are seen to be evasive regarding the incident. No one is speaking clearly about this.
