Know what is the entire alleged liquor scam?
On March 21, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in connection with alleged irregularities in the new excise policy of the Delhi government. Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia is still in jail in this case. The Delhi government implemented a new liquor policy in November 2021. After the implementation of the new liquor policy, Delhi’s liquor business came into private hands.
This policy of the Delhi government was in controversy from the very beginning, but when this controversy grew, the government rejected the new policy and once again implemented the old policy in July 2022. According to the report, companies were given a discount of Rs 144.36 crore in license fees. This caused a loss of about Rs 144.36 crore to the government treasury.
