Engineer made Hanumanji, neither clay, nor stone, nor wood… you will not believe what this idol was made of

Radhika Kodwani/Indore: You must have seen many things being made from scrap. But, now we are going to show you something new. The artist from Indore used the spare parts of broken machines in such a way that people started joining hands with reverence. This artist has such skill in his hands that he turns junk into something precious and worshipable. You have rarely seen such sculpture art anywhere before. After the statue of Ramlala in Ayodhya, now the unique statue of Ram devotee Hanuman in Indore is attracting people’s attention. It has been prepared by Indore artist Deval Verma in a year.

350 kg idol
Deval says that its specialty is that it has been made from brass utensils, plates, cauldrons, pots, shock ups, gears, springs and stainless steel. Also used automotive parts. This craft weighs 350 kg. Its height is about 9 feet and width is four and a half feet. In this, welding was done after cutting every part. That too so well that you cannot detect that these are the same car and machine parts which were thrown away. It seems as if the glory and power of Hanumanji is visible in the face of the idol. Shock ups and gears have been used in the legs. It has a team of 4 people, which includes mechanical engineer, helper and welder. This craft of Hanumanji was made in one year and will be installed in Godhra.

This position is achieved with difficulty
Deval has made the scrap so beautifully that this idol of Hanumanji has come alive. In this, all the physical characteristics of Hanumanji have been revealed. The facial features, chakra, tilak and eyes are gorgeous. It is said that he often used to make something from small parts of vehicles, hence he chose the path of doing something new and different. But, this kind of art does not get much recognition, it achieves this position after many difficulties.

Artifacts also going abroad
Deval told that till now he has recycled more than 7 thousand kilograms of metal scrap. A map of India has been prepared. It has been named ‘Golden Bird’. This is in Khargone Municipality. Deval says that a 12 feet high elephant was also made of iron, steel and other metals, whose weight is more than 1000 kg. Apart from this, Buddha, Ganpati, tiger, owl, eagle and fishes have been made. Most of the art works have been sold in countries like UAE, America, Dubai, Italy. During this period we have also worked with some big brands in India. It is said that considering that metallic scrap, e-waste, plastic scrap are increasing, every person should work on this.
