England Cricketer Alastair Cook Announces Retirement From All Forms Of Professional Cricket


Alastair Cook: England’s legendary batsman Alastair Cook has said goodbye to all forms of cricket. Cook had opened the batting for England for years. Although, he had retired from international cricket in September 2018 itself, but was playing in domestic cricket of England. Now at the age of 38, he has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Alastair Cook is also the first batsman for England to score ten thousand runs in the Test format.

Alastair Cook has scored thousands of runs in cricket over the years. He played a total of 161 matches in international cricket for England, in which he scored 12,472 runs in 291 innings. During this period, his average was 45.35, while the best score was 294 runs. Cook had scored 33 centuries and 57 half-centuries in his Test career.

Cook’s red ball career was brilliant

In the ODI format, this legendary England batsman had scored 3204 runs in 92 innings of 92 matches at an average of 36.40 and strike rate of 77.13. During this period, Cook had played 5 centuries and 19 half-century innings. At the same time, in T20 format, Cook had scored a total of 61 runs in only 4 matches.

Alastair Cook has had a very brilliant career in England’s domestic cricket. He has played a total of 352 first class matches, scoring 26,643 runs in 619 innings at an average of 46.41. During this period, Cook had played 74 centuries and 125 half-centuries. Cook has also taken a total of 386 catches in his first class career.

Cook made his international Test debut for England in 2006 against India in Nagpur. After that, in September 2018, at the age of just 33, he announced his retirement from international cricket and concentrated his entire focus on playing domestic cricket for England. Now he has retired from all forms of cricket.
