For the first time in the history of AMU, candidates will be checked with metal detectors in the entrance examination. Undergraduate and postgraduate entrance examinations will be held on June 8. Thousands of students are registered for the entrance examinations to be held on June 8, 9 and 10. Vice Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon and Registrar Mohammad Imran reviewed the arrangements for the examination. The entrance examinations will be held in two phases.

On June 8, the entrance exams for BA (Hons), BA B.Ed, B.Sc (Hons), B.Sc B.Ed, B.Com (Hons), MBA, MBA (IB), MBA (IBF), MBA (Finance Management), MBA (TTM), MSW, MIRM, MHRM and MBA (Agribusiness) will be held.

On June 9, the entrance exam for class 11 and Diploma Engineering will be held. On June 10, the entrance exams for other courses including B.Tech, B.Arch and B.A.LL.B. will be held. To make the entrance exam smooth and transparent, the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examinations inspected the examination hall. They instructed the room inspectors and security personnel deployed at the examination centers that any kind of laxity will not be tolerated. The Registrar said that if a candidate is found with a banned equipment or is found indulging in cheating, a case will be registered against him.

Training on metal detectors

Security personnel were trained about the metal detectors being used for the first time in AMU. A meeting of the centre administrators was held in the auditorium of the administrative building on June 7. The Registrar informed the administrators about the equipment and methods used for cheating at present, the various ways to check it and catch such incidents.

Candidates will not be allowed to carry mobile phones, watches etc. The Controller of Examinations said that along with the installation of Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMD) at the examination centres, proctor personnel will be deployed with Hand Held Metal Detectors (HHMD). All the candidates will be allowed to enter the examination hall only after being checked with the metal detector.
