The number of patient women is estimated to increase by 50,000 every year in this decade. Due to which the economic burden is expected to be an average of 19.55 billion dollars annually. ‘The economic burden of breast cancer in India is increasing day by day. It is estimated that the number of patients undergoing research will increase annually between the years 2000-2021 and 2030. Data from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) database has been analyzed and a statistical model (ARIMA) has been applied to forecast future trends while adjusting for past patterns and fluctuations.
Cases of triple negative breast cancer have increased continuously in the year 2019. Its treatment costs up to Rs 18 lakh in a private hospital. Cancer cases have been continuously increasing in the country for the last three years. The Health Ministry gave this information in response to a question in Parliament. According to the information, during the Question Hour in Parliament, information was sought regarding cancer cases in the country. In response to this, the Health Ministry released the data of the last three years. It was told that during the year 2021, 14,26,447 cases of cancer were registered across the country. At the same time, cancer cases increased by 35,000 in the year 2022, due to which the number of cancer patients increased to 14,61,427. Apart from this, cancer patients also increased by 35,000 during 2023. If seen accordingly, from 2021 to 2023, cancer patients in the country have increased by 70 thousand.
This reason given for increase in cases
While quoting the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the Health Ministry said that the reason for the increase in the number of patients is due to many factors like more testing than before, better testing facilities, new technology and awareness among the people.
