But when there is talk of eating and drinking along with roaming in the city and people get different flavors, then the fun is something else. Similarly, the work of adding sweetness to the flavors of the city is done by the old uncle’s Barfi of Gorakhpur. Whoever eats it once, definitely visits their shop again.
Budhau Chacha’s Barfi in Gorakhpur has such a taste that whoever eats it will definitely come again. This shop is located at Bargadwa intersection of Gorakhpur. After reaching the shop, we met Aradhana Chowdhary, who is the daughter-in-law of an old uncle. She runs the shop now. Aradhana told that the shop was started in 1967 by Tilak Chowdhary. Since then till now we only sell milk products. But most of the customers come to the shop for Peda and this Peda is the identity of our purity and shop.
500 liters of milk is used in 1 day
Aradhana Chowdhary tells that from the beginning of the shop till now we are known for purity and for better quality. This is the reason why no customer complained even once in 70 years. Every day about 500 liters of milk is used here and we prepare Khowa, Peda, Paneer by burning this milk with our own hands. The price of Peda at Kaka’s shop is Rs.600 per kg. He sells about 50 to 80 kg of trees in a day. It takes about 8 people from morning itself to prepare the peda and till evening they prepare the peda.

After reaching Kaka’s shop, customer Anuj Tiwari, who was buying peda, said, ‘I have been taking barfi from here for the last 10 years. Earlier my father also used to buy from here. Hundred percent guarantee of quality and purity is there and the taste is so good that it is a pleasure to eat it.
