The geographical location of our country is one of the most amazing in the world. At some places there are mountains and glaciers and at some places there are sea shores. In some places there is snow throughout the year and in others there is intense heat of 50 degrees Celsius. The geography and environment here are all unique. Despite this, the voters here vote with great enthusiasm every year.
Actually, the village we are talking about is surrounded by foreign land on three sides and a river flows in the fourth direction. The land area of India lies in the direction of the river. You get entry to the village from the river side only. This village is in West Bengal. The name of the village is Mahishmuri of Shalbari area of Sheetalkuchi. Booth number here is 136. village in cooch behar district
This village falls in Sheetalkuchi of Cooch Behar district, a frontier district of North Bengal. Next to this district is the neighboring country Bangladesh. This is the reason why India-Bangladesh border can be seen in many areas of the district. There are barbed wire fences and security cordons on the borders. However, there are some areas in the district where there is no barbed wire fencing. Because, the rule is to install barbed wire fencing 100 meters away from the border. But if that rule is followed then the people settled there will not get a place to live.
Mahishmuri village is one such area. This area belongs to Khalismari Panchayat of Sheetalkuchi block. There is a total of 15 hectares of land in this village. This village is surrounded by Bangladesh on three sides. Furthermore, the village is separated from mainland India by the Dharla River. To go here you will have to show photo ID to the border guards.
leaders do not come
However, the identity of these residents is that they are citizens of India. Village residents Alifar Minya, Rehman Minya, Ainul Haq, Jalil Minya and Aizul Minya said, “Candidates are a far cry in terms of Panchayat, Assembly or Lok Sabha elections. Even regional leaders do not come to this area. The result is that they vote as per their wish. Till now no MLA or MP has come to our area.”
He also said that the poor have nothing to do with voting. That’s why they don’t have time to think about voting. The people here do not even understand politics. Like previous polling days, voting will take place here this time too. The booth center will be in the primary school of Shalbari village.
