Excise PMLA Case Court Extends Arvind Kejriwal Judicial Custody Till June 19 – Amar Ujala Hindi News Live

Rouse Avenue Court has extended the judicial custody of Arvind Kejriwal in the money laundering case related to Delhi liquor scam. While rejecting the interim bail plea, instructions have been given to the concerned department regarding Kejriwal’s health.

In the liquor policy case, the Rouse Avenue Court has extended the judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal. He will have to remain in judicial custody till June 19. Today he was presented in the court through video conferencing. On the other hand, the Rouse Avenue Court has rejected CM Kejriwal’s seven-day interim bail plea. Kejriwal had sought 7-day bail citing medical reasons. Meanwhile, the court has directed the concerned officials to conduct the necessary medical tests.

Supplementary charges against Kejriwal and AAP

The court has deferred its decision on the issue of taking cognizance of the supplementary chargesheet filed against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the money laundering case related to the excise policy. Special Judge Kaveri Baveja of Rouse Avenue Court will now decide on this issue on July 9. The judge had reserved her decision on May 28 after hearing all the parties on this issue.

Decision to take cognizance of the letter on July 9

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has said in the chargesheet that bribes were also taken from businessmen of Punjab in lieu of investing in the liquor business in the capital. It also said that businessmen from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-ruled Punjab who did not pay bribes were not allowed to invest in the liquor business in the neighbouring state. For the first time, a case has been registered against a political party under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Kejriwal surrendered in Tihar

Delhi minister Kailash Gehlot said, ‘Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has surrendered as per the date given by the Supreme Court. He went to Rajghat, Hanuman temple and also met party leaders. CM Kejriwal has asked us not to think about him and work.’
