Farmer Protest LIVE Updates: 4 hours, 60 locations and thousands of farmers…This is the complete program of the protesters for the Rail Roko protest.

Farmer Protest LIVE Updates:Farmers of Punjab and Haryana are doing Rail Roko protest on Sunday (10th March). This movement is being organized through United Kisan Morcha (SKM) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM). The purpose of the protest is to put forward their demands before the Centre, especially the demand for guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) on various crops. The farmers’ demonstration started from 13 February.

Apart from SKM and KMM, many farmer organizations are also going to participate in the Rail Roko movement. Kisan Mazdoor Morcha leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that hundreds of farmers will sit on the railway tracks in many districts of Punjab and Haryana including Ferozepur, Amritsar, Rupnagar and Gurdaspur. The Rail Roko movement is going to last for four hours. It will start from 12 noon and will continue till 4 pm. Farmers will sit on the tracks at 60 places in Haryana and Punjab.

It is believed that due to the farmers’ protest, train services are going to be disrupted in this entire area. The authorities have also started taking strict measures keeping in mind the rail roko movement of farmers. Section 144 has been implemented in Ambala district of Haryana. A large number of security personnel have been deployed in areas where there is scope for clashes with farmers. The government in no way wants to allow the farmers’ protest to become too extreme.

Several rounds of talks have taken place between farmers and the government. But even after this, farmers are still standing at Khanauri and Shambhu border of Punjab-Haryana demanding MSP. Farmers demand that along with MSP, justice should be provided to the farmers killed in Lakhimpur Kheri, pension facility should be provided to the farmers and their loans should be waived off. Union ministers have talked to farmer leaders several times in Chandigarh regarding these demands.
