Within the district, along with many types of traditional farming, farming is also being done on a large scale using new technology. Now the farmers here are earning good profits from capsicum cultivation at low cost. Abhay Ranjan Rai, resident of Dumraon, is doing various types of farming on a large scale. Abhay has cultivated capsicum in about five acres. This will also bring good profits.
Abhay says that today many people are cultivating capsicum in Dumraon, but only a few people are cultivating capsicum in acres. Abhay told that capsicum cultivation is a very profitable deal. This crop is ready within about 70 to 75 days of sowing. That means, after 75 days of sowing, you can pluck capsicum from the plants and sell it in retail or wholesale in the market. If you cultivate capsicum in one acre and the weather conditions are good then you can earn a profit of around Rs 3 to 4 lakh in a season. There is a profit of more than Rs 10 lakh in five acres of land.

Increase in demand leads to more profits
Abhay said that today the demand for capsicum is increasing very fast in the market. Many farmers are cultivating capsicum. Due to this, the income of farmers has increased significantly. Nowadays capsicum is being sold very expensive in the market. Its price always remains 40 to 50 rupees per kg. Many times, due to increase in retail inflation, the price of capsicum reaches Rs 80 to Rs 100 per kg in the market. Due to this, the profit of the farmers who cultivate it increases significantly. There is a lot of demand for capsicum from our place. Apart from Bihar, capsicum is supplied to many states from here.
