Fatehpur News: Umar converted from Kshatriya to Muslim in 1984. He used to deceive people by giving his religious conversion in the form of advice. He had held meetings in Europe, Africa and even in America. He also had a network in the country up to Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, Delhi, Noida, Meerut and Muzaffarnagar.

Mohammad Umar Gautam, the mastermind of running the conversion racket in Fatehpur district, had spread his net in more than a dozen areas of the district. He used to lure a Hindu family of Andauli by promising to take them from rags to riches after converting to Islam. People in the district were attracted by seeing his house and got trapped in the Maulana’s net.

Maulana converted more than 50 families in the last ten years. They got lured by the greed, but they did not get the facilities. They even lost their home. After changing his name from Shyam Pratap Singh to Umar Gautam, he made Jamia Nagar Batla House Nuh Masjid his abode with his family. He started the work of connecting and funding the people of the district through his religious organization Islamic Dawa Center (IDC).
