A private lady doctor died under suspicious circumstances on Tuesday night in her residence in CHC Baskhari premises in Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. The woman lived in a government residence with her husband, a doctor posted in CHC. According to the husband, the woman had hanged herself. In the hope of saving her alive, they immediately took her down from the noose and took her to the district hospital, where she was declared dead. Police have registered a case of dowry death against the doctor’s husband and other family members.
Around midnight on Tuesday, in the doctor’s residence in the Baskhari CHC premises, doctor Dr. Prashant Singh told people that his wife Sudha Swati Singh (30) had hanged herself. As soon as the news spread, there was chaos. According to Prashant, with the help of people around, he brought down Sudha, who was hanging from the fan with a dupatta noose, in an unconscious state.
After this, after giving first aid at the CHC, she was immediately taken to the district hospital through an ambulance. There the doctors declared Sudha dead. After the body of the lady doctor was found in the government residence on Wednesday morning, CO City Devendra Maurya and Baskhari police team sealed the residence.
Also, Sudha’s body was sent to the postmortem house from the district hospital itself. Considering the seriousness of the case, the forensic team also duly inspected the residence of the doctor couple and collected samples etc.
