People from all over the country witnessed the orgy of firecrackers in Harda, Madhya Pradesh, where a firecracker factory was being run in a residential area, due to which a spark burnt the entire area to ashes. After this news, it was revealed that the owner of the firecracker factory had taken not one but four licenses, two of which were even suspended. How to get license?
To apply for cracker and explosive license, one has to contact the District Magistrate Office of the concerned area. From here the officials will give a form to the applicant, along with information about online application will also be given. Along with the application, various types of documents will also be asked from you, if even one document is missing, the form will be canceled. Along with this, application fee also has to be paid. After the application, the officer examines it thoroughly, after which the application is accepted or rejected.

Different states have their own rules for this. Some states give license for one year, while in some states this limit may be more or less. Licenses for making firecrackers are issued by the Petroleum and Explosive Safety Department of the Government of India. You can apply to the Collectorate for a license to sell firecrackers.

What are the rules?
There are some rules for setting up a firecracker factory, which are necessary to follow. The firecracker factory should be in an area where there is no residential area. There should be one acre of land for the factory, and the firecrackers should be kept in a shed which is not inflammable. The distance between sheds for storing and selling fireworks should be three meters. No oil burning lamps or gas will be used in the factory. No bulb should be hanging from a wire, the light should be stuck to the wall or ceiling. It is necessary to have complete fire safety equipment in the factory.
