DCP Kashi Zone has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 each on the four accused named in the case of firing and attack on a house in Mir Ghat, a few steps away from Vishwanath Dham. The miscreants include Sahil Yadav of Sujabad Padav, former councilor Ankit Yadav living in Machhodari and Shivam Sharma and his brother Shobhit Sharma, residents of Sheetla Gali.
On the other hand, earlier on Sunday, Govind Yadav, a resident of Ramghat, who was caught from the spot, was sent to jail on Monday. Whereas, Kallu Yadav, who was caught from the spot, was not found involved in the incident and was released by the police after interrogation. Meanwhile, as a precaution, police and PAC personnel are deployed around Vijay Yadav’s house.
According to Dashashwamedh police station’s history sheeter and SP leader Vijay Yadav alias Vijju, he was being asked to pay goonda tax. When he did not pay the goonda tax, Govind Yadav, Sahil Yadav, Ankit Yadav, Shivam Sharma and Shobhit Sharma and 12 unknown people armed with guns and sharp weapons barged into his house at 1 pm on Sunday.
Six people including a six-year-old child of the family were injured in the eight rounds of firing and attack. DCP Kashi Zone Pramod Kumar said that other accused will also be arrested soon. A team of crime branch along with the police of Dashashwamedh police station has been deployed to arrest the accused.
