Jogendra nath mandal with jinnah: The matter is on 8 October 1950, when Pakistan Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan was sitting in his office, when a man reached there with his resignation. He was the first Law Minister of Pakistan Jogendra Nath Mandal. He was playing the role of a Dalit Hindu leader in Pakistan, as well as the first Law Minister of that country. He got this post of Law Minister because of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Actually Muhammad Ali Jinnah used to trust him a lot. But later he had to return to India.
Jogendra Nath wanted to improve Dalit society
Jogendra Nath was born on 29 January 1904 in Barisal (now Bangladesh) in undivided Bengal. He had studied law, but not to advocate but to improve the poor condition of Dalit society. He had decided during college days that once he comes into politics, he will work to improve the Dalit society. In such a situation, he was elected to the Bengal Legislative Assembly in 1937 and later became a minister. Later, when he became disillusioned with the Congress, he joined the Muslim League.
Pakistanβs first law minister
Jogendra Nath Mandal used to trust Muhammad Ali Jinnah a lot. He was one of his close ones. He dreamed of developing Pakistan and modern. Mandal has also been the first Law Minister of Pakistan. Apart from this, there were other ministers in Commonwealth and Kashmir affairs. After the division of Mandal, he became a member of the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan in 1947. By the time Jinnah was alive, his dal street in Pakistan, but after the death of Jinnah, he was shocked. After Jinnahβs death in 1948, Jogendra Nath went on marginalized.
Why India had to return
In March 1949, Mandal supported a controversial resolution, which had several principles for Pakistanis. In this, the sovereignty of Allah on the universe, the principle of democracy and freedom were all seen according to Islam. Since the formation of Pakistan, the condition of non -Muslims started deteriorating, when Mandal raised his voice against it, people started doubting their patriotism. He resigned from Liaquat Aliβs cabinet and returned to India on 8 October 1950.
