According to the Daily Mail website, Curtis Peterson and his friend have found a huge oarfish near Tiwi Island in Australia. They have posted a photo with this fish (Oarfish spotted in Australia) on the Facebook page Fishing Australia TV. This island is about 80 kilometers away from Darwin, located in Australia’s Northern Territory. Oarfish are considered extremely rare because they swim thousands of feet below the sea.

Fish live at a depth of 3000 feet
According to the Daily Mail, the fish swims at a depth of 3000 feet and its dead body often gets washed up on the seashore. It is quite surprising that these boys got hold of an oarfish. The earthquake came 2 days after it was last seen
This fish grows up to 9-10 meters in length. Its shape resembles a snake, due to which it was considered a sea monster in earlier times. These fish are also called doomsday fish. The reason is that their appearance is considered a bad omen. In Japanese beliefs, these were called sea snakes and whenever they were seen, an earthquake would occur. Recently, this fish was seen on the beach of California. Two days after its appearance, an earthquake occurred in the city. Scientists believe that this is just a superstition.
