Shane Watson on Axar Patel: The teams of India and Australia are busy preparing for the Border-Gavaskar series to be played from 9 February. Continuous rhetoric is being seen before the series. Meanwhile, now former Australian player Shane Watson talked about Indian team’s star spin all-rounder Axar Patel. He told that Akshar will be difficult for the Australia team in the Border-Gavaskar series. Akshar Patel’s special action can become a problem for the guest team.
Why would it be difficult to play the characters?
Talking about Akshar’s Patel, Watson said, “The angle of Akshar makes him really difficult to line up. I have never faced him in Test cricket but I have always felt that he was difficult to play in T20 cricket also because of his release point. His arms are not round, but the arm is round and he bowls from a little outside the crease and the ball comes in from that angle. I wasn’t really able to line it up. If the ball is turning, then because of the angle it seems that the ball is turning a lot.
Apart from this, he also talked about Jadeja’s bowling. He told that Akshar’s way of bowling is somewhat different from Jadeja. He said, “It is different from Jadeja because Jadeja is usually a little closer to the stump and he does not make that much angle with the ball coming towards the right-handed batsman from his release point.”
Akshar plays all three formats for India
Akshar plays all three formats for the Indian team. He has played a total of 8 Tests, 49 ODIs and 40 T20 Internationals in his career so far. Apart from this, Akshar has taken 37 wickets in T20 International and has scored a total of 288 runs in batting.
