In the meeting of Delhi BJP Legislature Party, Vijender Gupta was unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP party in Delhi Assembly. In the meeting, MLA Ajay Mahawar proposed the name of Vijender Gupta as the leader of the party. MLAs Mohan Singh Bisht, OP Sharma, Anil Vajpayee, Abhay Verma and Jitendra Mahajan supported this proposal.
State co-incharge Dr. Alka Gurjar, state president Virendra Sachdeva and organization general secretary Pawan Rana were present in the meeting held at the party office. After this, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva announced that Vijender Gupta will now be the leader of the opposition in the Delhi Assembly.
The newly appointed Leader of Opposition expressed his gratitude to the party leadership. He said that the party has given this opportunity once again. This responsibility has come at a crucial time, when governance in Delhi has completely failed under the AAP government. The people of Delhi are feeling cheated and are looking towards the BJP. The BJP is committed to exposing the failures of the AAP government at all levels and raising the problems of the people on the floor of the House.
He said that for the last 18 months, Aam Aadmi Party has forcibly stopped the constitutional arrangements of the Municipal Corporation from working by not forming the standing committee of Delhi Municipal Corporation, ward committees of 12 zones. Due to this, Delhi Municipal Corporation has become paralyzed. There is only one conspiracy behind this anti-people step that elected representatives should not be given their rights, so that rampant corruption can be done and the voice of the public can be suppressed. Three students died due to waterlogging. The main reason for this is the lack of communication in the Municipal Corporation. All this is the disgusting truth of AAP’s corruption and unconstitutional deeds.
