On October 25, the seventh and last day of nomination for the Khair assembly by-election of Aligarh district, four candidates including SP, BSP and BJP filed nomination papers in the court of SDM Khair Mahima Rajput. A total of six candidates are in the fray from here. There was tight police security in the tehsil premises.
Pahal Singh of BSP filed nomination in three sets, Vipin Kumar of Swaraj Bharatiya Nyaya Party filed nomination in two sets, Surendra Diler of BJP filed nomination in three sets. Charu Kain from SP filed nomination in three sets. A total of 24 potential candidates had purchased nomination papers from Khair.
Scrutiny of nomination papers on October 28
District Election Officer Visakh G. Told that nomination papers will be scrutinized on 28th October and withdrawal of nominations will take place till 30th October. Election symbols will be allotted to the candidates on October 30 in the afternoon. On November 12, polling parties will leave for the booths from Khair Mandi and voting will take place on November 13. Counting of votes will take place on 23 November.
