Fourth Accused Of Katni Gold Loot Arrested By Police

Police have arrested the fourth accused of dacoity in the branch of Manappuram Gold Loan Company located at Bargawan in Katni. The court granted seven days remand of the accused to the police for questioning. A reward of Rs 30,000 was declared on the arrest of the accused.

Katni Superintendent of Police SK Jain said that at around 10.30 am on November 26, more than half a dozen armed dacoits raided the Manappuram Gold Loan branch located in Bargawan under Ranganath police station. At the point of pistol, the accused absconded with 16 kg gold and Rs 3.5 lakh in cash kept in the locker of the bank. With the help of Mandla police, two accused were arrested from the residence while they were on the run.

Arrested Shubham Tiwari, age 24, resident of Bihar and Ankur Sahu, age 25, resident of Buxar, Bihar, told during interrogation that Patna’s Beur Jail Bandh Subodh Singh is a gang member. The robbery was planned by Subodh Singh and Dilip Singh, who was lodged in Buxar jail. Gang members Akhilesh alias Vikas resident Vaishali, Arjun alias Piyush Jaiswal resident Patna, Mithilesh alias Dharmendra Pal resident Buxar and Amit Singh alias Vikku resident Hajipur were involved in the incident. His gang had committed a robbery on August 29 at a gold loan branch located in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The police arrested another member of the gang from Bihar. Who had bought a motorcycle in Katni through fake ID.

Mithilesh alias Dharmendra Pal Niwas Buxar, involved in the dacoity, has been arrested with the help of Bihar Police. A reward of Rs 30,000 was declared on his arrest. The accused had taken the house on rent in Baghraji area using a fake ID named Dharmendra. The accused is also visible in the footage of the bank. Taking the motorcycle of the bank employee, along with another accomplice had fled towards Satna.

Police collecting evidence against Subodh
According to sources, the police is interrogating the arrested accused in relation to another gang member and leader Subodh Singh. The members of this gang have looted about 350 kg of gold in the country. After committing the crime, the gang members abscond by giving the stolen goods to a third person. The third person reaches the designated place and gives the stolen goods to other persons. The gang members do not know each other and only follow the orders of the leader Subodh. Only Subodh is aware of the stolen goods. Police is gathering information through gang members so that Subodh, who is in jail, can be interrogated or brought here.
