Kharghar: Prisoners often get VIP facilities in jail. There have also been shocking incidents of mobile phones, tobacco and drugs being found in the jail. Meanwhile, now there has been a fight between prisoners in Taloja jail over canteen food. It is alleged that rich and poor prisoners are being bribed to provide delicious food to the jail officials. It is alleged that VIP prisoners are being served chicken, mutton, Chinese food. In this regard, a jail inmate has lodged a complaint with the Thane Anti-Corruption Department.
Chicken, mutton and Chinese being served in jail
Jail inmate Surendra Gadling has filed a complaint with the Thane Anti-Corruption Department regarding corruption in Taloja Jail. A case is going on against this prisoner in the Koregaon Bhima riot case. In Kharghar’s Taloja Jail, he is being served from the jail canteen. It is alleged that many VIP prisoners are being given VIP facilities in the jail. Taloja Jail currently houses many experienced prisoners including MLA Ganpat Gaikwad.
Some prisoners are being given VIP treatment
It has been said in the complaint that jail officer Sunil Patil and other officers of Kharghar jail are being given VIP treatment. Not only this, the rate card of the menu given to the VIP prisoners of Taloja jail has also been recorded in the complaint. Fried chicken is Rs 2 thousand and mutton masala is Rs 8 thousand. In the complaint, the prisoner has said that Rs 7 thousand are being charged for mutton curry.
