G-20 Summit: An all-party meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday regarding the preparations for the G20. This meeting took place at the Cultural Center of Rashtrapati Bhavan. The all-party meeting was attended by Defense Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh as well as Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Naveen Patnaik from Odisha and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Many other leaders also attended the meeting. These included Sitaram Yechury, Chandrababu Naidu, MK Stalin, Jagan Mohan Reddy, D Raja, Nirmala Sitharaman, S Jaishankar, Piyush Goyal, Mallikarjun Kharge and HD Deve Gowda.

Next year in 2023, the G-20 summit is going to be hosted by India, for which it was decided to call on Monday (December 5) by the central government to seek suggestions, discuss strategies and finalize .

During the meeting, PM Modi called upon all political parties to participate in India’s G20 chairmanship. He said, “It is an honor that has come for India and not for any party or individual. It is the pride of every Indian. That’s why we all should work cooperatively.”

Senior leaders kept their point

In the meeting, CPI (M) leader Yechury said, “The chairmanship of the G20 is given to the member countries by rotation and on this basis India has automatically got it.” On the other hand, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that India had presided over the Non-Aligned Movement summit in the past. D Raja said that India should use this opportunity to showcase the achievements of India’s youth, farmers.

Got the presidency of G20 on 1st December

India officially assumed the presidency of the G20 on 1 December. More than 200 G20 meetings are expected to be hosted in different places of the country from December this year. G20 leaders’ summit is to be held in New Delhi on September 9 and 10 next year. Before this many meetings of G20 will be organized in different parts of the country.

Trinamool Congress President Mamta Banerjee had already said before participating in the meeting that she will participate in it as Trinamool Congress President. The G20 is an intergovernmental forum of the world’s major developed and developing economies. This includes Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States and the European Union.
