Govardhan police station of Mathura district has arrested seven accused, including the leader of a gang involved in Chauth extortion and other misdeeds in the name of homosexual relations. Police have also recovered illegal arms, cartridges and Chauth recovery cash from the accused.
SSP Shailesh Pandey said that on January 31, a young man from Govardhan area was trapped by a person named Sunny by luring him of homosexual relations through Grindr application. After agreeing to meet through the app, both of them reached the fields of Ading area. As per the prior plan, six other members of the gang also reached the spot and made a video of the youth committing misdeeds.
By threatening to make the said video viral, he showed the illegal weapon, due to which the victim got scared and while fulfilling the demand of Chauth recovery of the accused, he told them his purse, mobile phone and Pay-TM password.
The accused transferred money from Paytm to different accounts. Also, the victim was forcibly raped by a member of the gang. On February 3, based on the complaint of the victim, a case was registered against seven unknown persons in Govardhan police station. Police started investigating the matter.
On Sunday night, Vivek Raj alias Bhulla alias Bhola alias Mamma son of Shripal Singh, Vijay Kumar alias Ramu son of Vinod Kumar Katheria, Mohit Diwakar son of Late from Jamunavat intersection. Raju Diwakar resident of Sirsaganj Firozabad, Sunny son of Rakesh Katheria, Mukul Kumar alias Sonu son of Brijesh Katheria, Krishna alias Ashu son of Rajesh Rathore, Dilip son of Hakim Singh Shakya resident of Mainpuri were arrested. Rs 35,300, two illegal pistols, five cartridges, a purse and five mobile phones have been recovered from the accused.
