The gang that fled after stealing the car of BJP national president JP Nadda has also stolen three cars in Bareilly. This gang steals luxury cars by changing states and cities. The gang members are very vicious. They steal cars from different states and use them in distant cities. Only a maximum of two or three vehicles are stolen from a city and a maximum of the same number of vehicles are sold to a single buyer, so that a big chain of recovery is not formed if the incident is revealed.
This information has been obtained during police investigation. The Baradari police station engaged in the investigation has so far caught only one member of the gang, Farooq. During interrogation, it was revealed that his father-in-law Shahid Mota, the leader of the gang, was also there with the entire gang, but he absconded. The police is busy cracking down on the gang. According to Inspector Amit Pandey, Shahid Mota’s gang is very vicious.
Farooq told during interrogation that they sell Creta for Rs 1 lakh and Fortuner for Rs 3 lakh. Depending on the model of the car, the price may increase or decrease. There are many types of people in their gang, from stealing cars to changing chassis and engine numbers and preparing fake documents.
These people keep moving forward while stealing vehicles in different cities and sometimes stay in hotels and sometimes at friends’ houses. Many times the convoy becomes long and the cars are sold.
