Wasim Ahmed/Aligarh: The date of Lok Sabha elections is getting closer. Anyway, political parties have intensified their publicity and preparations. Independent candidates are also working hard and trying tirelessly to attract the attention of voters. Its hallmark was seen in Aligarh Lok Sabha constituency 15, where an independent candidate was roaming around wearing a garland of slippers. His video is also going viral, in which he is asking for votes wearing a garland of slippers.
Actually, Pandit Keshav Dev has received the slippers election symbol from the Election Commission, hence he is campaigning among the people wearing a garland of slippers around his neck. Pandit Keshav Dev is wearing a garland of seven slippers, seeing which everyone is surprised. Recently, the process of withdrawal of nomination on Aligarh Lok Sabha seat was completed. During this period, two candidates including independent candidates withdrew their names. After this, there is going to be a fight between 14 candidates. A total of 21 people had filed nominations from March 28 to April 4. During this period, nominations of five candidates were rejected and then two withdrew their names.
Meeting people wearing garlands of slippers
Let us tell you that Pandit Keshav Dev is an RTI activist. He has contested assembly elections twice. In the last assembly elections, Pandit Keshav Dev had contested the MLA election from the city assembly seat, where he had to face defeat. When Pandit Keshav Dev did not get vehicle permission and security from the district administration, he left his election campaign and sat on strike at the District Officer’s office. Pandit Keshav Dev Gautam, sitting on the dharna, said that he will continue to sit on the dharna until the administration provides I-card, vehicle permission and security.
