Garuda Purana Lord Vishnu Niti Know Who Deliver Shraddha Food To Ancestors

Garuda Purana Lord Vishnu Niti in Hindi: Pitru Paksha is about to begin. Every year, Shraddha Paksha starts from the full moon date of Bhadrapada month till Ashwin Amavasya. In these 16 days, Shraddha rituals of ancestors are performed.

Garuda Purana, an important Purana of Hindu religion, tells about the important rules of living, karma, death and events after death. It tells what should be done for the peace of the soul after death.

According to Garuda Purana, the rituals after death are Tarpan, Pind Daan and Shraddha. It is said in the Hindu scriptures that for the peace of the souls of the relatives who have left the earth and to pay off the debt of the ancestors, Shraddha must be performed during Pitru Paksha. It is believed that at the time of Pitru Paksha, the ancestors come to earth and accept the things offered and also give blessings after being happy. Therefore, during Pitru Paksha, food is prepared for the ancestors.

How does Shraddha food reach the ancestors?

It is believed that the ancestors consume the food taken out during the Shraddha ritual. But the question is, how does this food reach them? In this regard, it has been told in Garuda Purana that there are two divine ancestors named Vishwadev and Agnishrava. Both of these names convey the offered food to the ancestors with the help of Gotra. It is told in Garuda Purana that, if our ancestors are in the form of God, then the food of Shraddha will reach them in the form of nectar and if they are in the form of human beings, then the food will be received in the form of food. Whereas, due to the ancestors being in the animal form, food reaches them in the form of grass, due to being in the snake form, in the form of air and due to being in the Yaksha form, food reaches them in the form of betel leaves.

How is food prepared for the ancestors during Pitru Paksha?

In Pitru Paksha, while performing Shraddha rituals, food is prepared on 5 leaves before serving it to the Brahmin or the person to whom you are going to serve Shraddha food. In this, the first part is for the cow, the second part is for the dog, the third part is for the ant, the fourth part is for the crow and the fifth part is for the god. There is a belief in Hindu religion that during Pitru Paksha, ancestors come to earth in these forms and eat food.
