Goa Corona Update: The increasing cases of Corona have once again raised concerns. The biggest reason for this is the sub-variant JN 1 of Covid 19. So far, 21 cases of JN1 have been confirmed in the country. Of these, 19 cases are from Goa only. A top Goa health official said on Thursday (December 21) that sub-variant JN.1 of Covid-19 was found in 19 samples tested over a period, but these were old cases and are no longer under treatment.
The first case of this variant was reported in Kerala on December 8, after which the Center urged the states and union territories to maintain constant surveillance. The Center directed to regularly monitor and report district-wise cases of influenza-like illness and severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) so that they can be detected early.
How is the health of patients infected with JN1?
State epidemiologist Prashant Suryavanshi told PTI, “All 19 patients of the JN.1 variant found in Goa have now recovered. These are old cases. “This pattern was found during genome sequencing of samples collected from patients.”
Suryavanshi said, ‘All the people with this form had mild symptoms. They have recovered now. These samples were collected over a period. The number of active cases of Covid-19 in Goa as of Thursday is 16, which includes four cases reported today. According to the bulletin issued by the state health services directorate, a total of 193 samples were tested on Thursday.
Earlier, the Union Health Ministry had also said that there is no need to panic about the new variant of Corona, but vigilance is necessary.
